Election Information

Meet Karen Kapsch
I have worked for McKesson Medical Surgical for the past 18 years and manage a $14 million dollar territory throughout the Chicagoland area. My husband discovered KG back in 2006 and loved how safe the neighborhood was so we have been residents for the past 16 years.
If elected, I want to bring back honesty and transparency to the residents of KG. We all deserve to voice our opinions and should be able to trust our board members. Also, I feel communication is key. Most importantly, I want to ensure we can all move past what’s transpired over the past several years.

Meet Pat Larisey
We moved to KG in 2014 and immediately knew we made the right decision. The events that have happened recently have made me stand up and take action. We need transparency in the actions of the board. This includes financial statements and receipts to be published in quarterly meetings. The bids need to be published as well.
We need to follow the rules that are set in the bylaws. I would also open up the Facebook page again. The community needs a forum to communicate.
Please feel free to ask me any questions

Meet Dawn Roake
Roake Family is an original Kennedy Home - KG Resident since we built in 2006.
I have seen/heard about 3 different HOA Boards “ebb and flow” over the 17 years of living here.
I am:
1) The organizer for “KG Gives Back” 2022 Block Party; KG came together and donated 200 plus items to Daybreak Shelter and Guardian Angel of Joliet.
2) Public School teacher for 22+ years (middle school)
3) Volunteer Catechist (Teacher) for Religious Education for 15+ years.
4) Negotiations Team for two Plainfield Teacher Contracts (4 years experience).
5)Volunteered for various activities through Jones Elementary including Parent-Teacher Actvities and Girl Scout Cookie Mom/Outings
6) Professional Development through Landmark Worldwide Communications Courses and Team Management Leadership Program.
My possibility as a collaborator (on HOA):
To be a Board Member who brings rigor, grace, humor with freedom and ease to better support the ENTIRE Community- not just possible “Board Agendas.”
My intentions:
*Implement Teams and Teamwork on our KG HOA.
*Clear and concise communications through updated/refreshed HOA Website, (Google) Surveys for needs/wants of our Community including Block Parties/Community Events, Landscaping.
*One email per household to ensure communications are received beyond Facebook and to ensure budget reports are received by Community Residents

Meet Ashley Shulman
I have been a member of the KG community since 2021 but have loved this subdivision for many years prior. I am a local real estate agent so I am very familiar with surrounding subdivisions, hoas and our community. I am no stranger to volunteer roles and often take on a leader role. I was Vice President for the Minooka PTO at the intermediate school and the Junior High School, the President of a girl scout troop for many years, and actively volunteer in other non-profit organizations in our community and surrounding communities. I am very passionate about this subdivision and will be an asset to KG.
If elected President, I will listen to all of the KG residents goals, hopes, concerns and complaints. I will work with my fellow board members to prioritize budget and future spending.I would like to be a part of a strong unified board for our HOA. Realizing there are serious works to be done in our community on a continuing basis.
I believe together we can grow as a community while leaving past failures behind and making this community the best it’s ever been.
Looking forward to meeting you!

Meet Julie Thomas
In our moving process we looked at over 15 homes in the area and when we stumbled across the house for sale in KG, we loved not only the house but the subdivision and felt very welcomed when we moved here in 2018. I have been fortunate enough to stay home with my children for the last few years but before that I was an administration assistant.
Since becoming aware of what has transpired the last few years, it has made me want to step up and bring our community back together and become more involved. If elected I would help our community get back onto our feet with open communication and be sure that everyone’s voice is heard. I would also love to eventually bring back family events that I know we’ve all grown to love and enjoy participating in with our fellow neighbors!

Meet Amy Vertin
My family has lived in KG since 2010 and love this community. I have been a successful business owner since 2015. If elected to the board I plan to use my organizational and budgeting skills to get us back on track. We need to cut expenses where able, and regrow our reserve fund. All homeowners need to be held accountable for paying yearly dues and bylaws need to be followed.
I hope to continue the fun community events that we have all grown to love; but not at the expense of the reserve fund. Finances need to be up to date and documented in a legit manner (quick books?). Financial statements should be readily available to homeowners when requested.
I hope everyone takes the time to vote and get involved.
